The Lead Business Systems Analyst will work with Valeant’s Commercial Operations team to leverage Veeva and related technologies and integrations. This individual will lead support of existing applications while researching and recommending best practices as well as leading large projects to implement new features and technology to further leverage our investment in Veeva.

Activities include: business process design and analysis, requirements development, design and configuration specifications creation, test case development, training materials development and execution, and production implementation management.


Production Support

  • Provide 2nd level support to solve application incidents, analyze issues, perform root cause analysis to determine and develop CAPA solutions.
  • Supervise other junior analysts who
    • Work with Valeant Help Desk to establish and maintain knowledge articles and FAQs.
    • Use Apex Data Loader, load territory alignments, call plans and other sales planning data into Veeva.
    • Deliver reports, dashboards and other data imports and exports.
  • Function as subject matter expert on integration techniques and supervise the creation of detailed specs for integrating data between other enterprise systems and Veeva.

Change Control

  • Ensure the integrity and management of change requests from multiple sources with business focused prioritization.
  • Manage the configuration and deployment of change requests while adhering to established change control procedures and documentation requirements.
  • Supervise local, remote and offshore technical development resources as needed.

Project Management

  • Develop detailed user requirement documents, process flows and other documentation to highlight business requirements for complex projects.
  • Prepare solution design specifications employing use case documents, diagrams and screen mockups as required.
  • Develop test plans and test cases and support the business in its execution of user acceptance testing activities.


Lead the support of Veeva and associated applications used by the Bridgewater, NJ Commercial Operations Team and Sales community. Work remotely with commercial teams at other Valeant locations as assigned.  Lead the activities of Customer Technologies Team members.

  • B.S. Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS or equivalent work experience in lieu of formal education
  • Veeva Administrator Certification required
  • Administrator Certification required
  • Apex trigger and class experience preferred
  • Ability to perform oracle database queries required


  • Five to seven year experience supporting CRM applications and Sales teams
  • Seven to ten years pharmaceutical or medical device experience
