The Material Associate I is responsible for being trained and proficient to work in 1+ of the following areas identified below:


Packs, Equipment, Component, FG Stockrooms, FG-Equipment Packaging, O’Fallon Shipping/Receiving and/or Returns Department


Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Packs, Equipment, Component, FG Stockrooms, FG-Equipment Packaging, O’Fallon Shipping/Receiving and/or Returns Department           


The Material Associate I responsibilities may include; sort / process returns, transferring offsite inventory, order / Kanban fulfillment, performing put away / packaging, investigate one's own order discrepancies, and monitor individual skill set as indicated on the Materials Skills Matrix.  May include (as qualified), training of Material employees and temporary support as requested.  Working Overtime as required.


Tools and Equipment Used: (as applicable)


PC, PDT, Phone, Copier/Scan/Fax, Weigh Scales, Rolling Ladder, Two-Wheeler, Industrial Powered Equipment, Electric Pallet Jack, Utility Knife


Responsibilities would be within one of the Areas below, but not limited to:


O’Fallon Dock / FG–Equipment Packaging: (when applicable)

-  Perform applicable system work

-  Perform receiving functions

-  Perform FG packaging as required.

-  Perform cycle counts

-  Becoming fork lift certified (if applicable)

-  Support Packaging (when applicable)


Stockrooms:   (when applicable)

-  Perform applicable system work

-  Perform cycle counts

-  Sort, fill, assemble and audit orders in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.

-  Review one's own inventory and shipment discrepancies.

-  Perform put away functions.

-  Becoming fork lift certified (if applicable).

-  Perform FG packaging as required.


Returns:   (when applicable)

-  Sort, assemble, audit, and ship orders in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.

-  Perform applicable system work


Additional Responsibilities include:

-  Person MUST treat others with respect, demonstrate a positive can do approach, and be willing to work in whatever area is assigned.

-  Remain open to change and support and assist projects when needed.

-  Provide individual data to Lead / designee to support area activity reports.

-  Assist in the Annual Physical Inventory.

-  Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.

-  Assist in maintaining the building security.

-  Conduct operations in a manner which promotes safety. Comply with OSHA and MSDS standards.

-  Train workers on Materials processes when assigned.


Required Education:  High School Diploma or equivalent.


Preferred Experience:  Previous manufacturing experience.  Surgical equipment manufacturing experience.


Required Skills/Qualifications:


-  Ability to lift 50 lbs.

-  Basic computer skills

-  Ability to work independently

-  Self starter

-  Perform problem solving

-  Good oral and written communication skills

-  Ability to work well with others and exercise good judgment.

-  Dependable and reliable

-  The ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers including decimals and fractions; simple use of formulas, charts, tables, specifications, and schedules.


Preferred Skills/Qualifications:


On the job acquired skills: (as applicable)

    - Hazmat certification 49 CFR / IATA

    - Industrial equipment operation qualifications

    - Review area processes to remain compliant to current SOP's

    - Working knowledge of existing computer programs (i.e.):

                    - PeopleSoft, ERPLX, WebShip, Documentum, Compliance      

                     - Wire, Excel, Word, etc.. (generate reports and forms)
