The Sr. Manager, Commercial Analytics will be responsible for building and leading the newly formed Commercial Analytics function supporting the Branded Pharmaceuticals Business Units (GI, Dermatology, Opthamology, Women’s Health) in the “New” Valeant. The Commercial Analytics function is responsible for reporting and analytics around the performance of the commercial business supporting the Sales & Marketing teams in understanding and answering critical business questions. This person will be accountable for evolving the function from a data reporting function to an insights, analytics and decision support function. The person needs to be able to adapt the activities of the team to meet the varying needs of a large and diverse product portfolio of both inline and pipeline brands. This person must be comfortable in operating in a fast paced changing “startup” type environment. This role will be responsible for overseeing 3-4 Business Analysts and serving as the face of the function to Commercial Operations leadership, General Managers, the CFO, and CEO. The position reports directly to the VP, Commercial Insights & Analytics.


  • Build and cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders built on trust, transparency and communication across Commercial, Finance, and Market Access
  • Lead and manage a team of business analysts by setting the priorities and objectives of the function aligned to the needs of the Commercial business and ensuring those priorities are achieved.
  • Evaluate the current activities and processes of the group and set a path forward to evolve the sophistication and capability of the function to serve the needs of a dynamic and diverse portfolio considering internal and external support models.
  • Build Center of Excellence in Resource Optimization and Measurement that provides critical decision support to Sales & Marketing teams about where to allocate resources and evaluate which investments are providing the expected return.
  • Establish standard KPI reporting and analytics process across the BUs
  • Project lead the evaluation and implementation of a Business Intelligence platform such as Tableau, Qliksense, or another industry-leading platform.
  • Coordinate closely across Forecasting, Market Research, Payer Analytics and Sales Operations to promote alignment of activities, information sharing, and efficient ways of working.
  • Lead, build, and develop a strong team including career development, performance management, and coaching.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree; Advanced degree in business-related discipline preferred
  • 5-7 years of industry experience, including experience in Finance and/or Commercial Analytics and team management experience across several therapeutic areas
  • Advanced SAS analytics.
