The Manager, Sales Operations is responsible for management, oversight and delivery of all Sales Operations activities for the B+L Pharma & WHC Business Units.  The Manager has a key role in managing the relationship and is the primary operations contact for various defined Specialty Pharma and Field Sales Teams as it relates to their operational needs and requests. Additional responsibilities include completion of ad-hoc projects, VP/Leadership requests and reporting and new project/product implementation activities. This role also provides information and guidance to the upper management in regards to strategic and tactical directions of business.


Essential Duties/ Responsibilities:                

  • Serves as primary liaison between assigned Specialty Pharma/Field Sales Teams and Sales Operations.
  • Ensures effective communications on all field sales force support issues are funneled through Communications channels.
  • Manages sales force communication ensuring timely and effective dissemination of key operational and sales information.
  • Plans, organizes and monitors deliverables in support of various field sales forces to ensure achievement of sales force effectiveness and team goals.
  • Maximizes team satisfaction by monitoring team reporting and developing solutions for the prompt resolution of any issues.
  • Facilitate incentive compensation plans and pay out process for all Pharma eye Care Teams.
  • Oversight of any Incentive Contests, Kickers or programs
  • Makes sure representative turnover is tracked and monitored on a monthly basis.
  • Provides troubleshooting “expertise” to sales field in support of challenges or obstacles they may need assistance with.
  • Resident expert in CRM/CLM and related systems and processes
  • Manages logistics for On-Boarding, Close-Out, Initial Product Training, Sales Meeting guidance for any new projects such as new product additions or sales force realignments ensuring seamless delivery for sales organization.
  • Works with Meeting planning vendors in support of team meetings and operational questions
  • Works closely with Sales Operations management team to ensure that all Sales Operations functions: IT, Analytics, IC and Equipment  are meeting the field’s needs for field sales force support specifications.
  • Ensures that SFA requirements for all new hires are rolled out on time and to specification.
  • Manages workflows encompassing operational process and procedure, and SOPs.
  • Advises upper Management on issues pertinent to the success of field selling teams and challenges they become aware of.
  • Creates and contributes to reports and presentations as needed
  • Maintains the required information technology expertise, competitive product knowledge, and product management skills in accordance with Sales Operations department standards.
  • Supports Sales Operations Team in cross functional activities as needed



  • BA/BS preferred
  • 6-8 years’ experience in sales and/or sales support with a pharmaceutical manufacturer or vendor.
  • Broad knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry including sales, sales support, sample accountability, PDMA regulations and sales force automation tools.
  • 2+ years pharmaceutical sales experience preferred
  • 5+ years working with diverse groups of people in a team environment
